-- Welcome to the Hanover Theater --

The Hanover Theater opened in 1928 (as the State Theater) and was used as a theater until December of 1986 when it was closed and sold to a group that planned on converting it into an antiques mall.  The group started the conversion, but work stopped in the early 1990's and the theater was used as a warehouse.

We are pleased to announce that on October 9, 2007 the Hanover Theater was sold to Historic Hanover Theater, LLC, a volunteer organization dedicated to restoring the Theater and presenting a wide range of local, regional and national performances in a casual setting.  The theater will be undergoing renovations for the next year to restore it to its 1928 splendor, meet modern building codes, and update the technical systems to create Broadway quality performances.

Please explore our website to learn about the theater and our plans for its restoration.  The volunteer pages have information on ways that you can help out.  Once we're open this site will have information on all of the events at the Theater.

    Thanks for visiting!!
