The Hanover Theater is being
restored through a collaboration of theater technicians,
engineers, carpenters, electricians, costumers, directors,
designers, actors and even a ballet dancer who are pooling their
talents to create a unique performing arts venue. In all
there are over 20 people involved with the project and each
member of the team averages at least 15 years of experience in
Professional Theatre.
Some of the key members of the
organization include:
 |
Robin Armstrong |
Robin has worked in professional theatre as a Director
and Actor (Boston, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Dallas, and more), as
a Fight Director (TheatreVirginia, The Shakespeare Festival
of Dallas, Dallas Theater Center), and as a playwright. She
has served on the faculties of Collin College, the
University of Texas at Dallas and the Interlochen Arts
Academy, a nationally renowned arts academy in Michigan. As
a Director in Dallas a few of Robin’s critical successes
include productions at
Theatre Britain such as
Macbeth, Communicating Doors, Betrayal, The Day After the
Fair and No Sex, Please, We're British. Other Dallas
hits include Eleemosynary and the regional premieres of
52
Pick-Up and Toothpaste & Cigars all produced by Act I
Productions. In 2006 Robin traveled to Petersburg,
Virginia to give a new twist to Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, staging the show with 4 actors and over a dozen
puppets which she made for the production!

Stacie Johnson |
|
Raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. Stacie knew from
childhood that she wanted to work in the performing arts.
She pursued a career as a ballerina and at the age
of 15 she was training at the Interlochen Arts Academy in
Traverse City, Michigan. When Stacie stopped dancing, she stayed in the
performing arts, changing her
focus to lighting design and technical theater. Stacie
received her BFA in lighting design from North Carolina
School of the Arts and has worked for over 15 years in
theatre and
dance. She has worked with the New Mexico Repertory
Theater, the Horse Cave Theater, the Richmond Ballet and the
Martha Graham Dance Company among others. |

Dave Leske |
|
Dave has been active in the Performing Arts since childhood
and was very active in his high school's Drama club.
He chose Mechanical Engineering as his major at Cornell
University but spent most of his time in the theatre
department, graduating with a BA in Archaeology. He has been working in Professional Theatre for over 20 years and finds his
engineering background to be a great asset in finding
solutions for unique technical challenges. Before moving to
Hanover to oversee the restoration, Dave lived in Richmond,
Virginia where he worked with many Performing Arts
organizations in the region including TheatreVirginia, the
Richmond Ballet, and Heritage Reparatory Theater, holding a
variety of positions from scenery painter to props builder
to Master Electrician. Passing on the art of Technical Theater is important to Dave
and while living in Richmond he taught students as a guest
artist at the Appomattox Regional Governors School (a magnet
school for the performing arts). |
